About Lexington Criminal Defense Attorney Janvi Patel

A native of London, Kentucky, Janvi was raised in Southeastern Kentucky and went on to earn dual undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Kentucky, before obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2024.

Janvi has gained valuable courtroom and litigation experience as a Kentucky Public Defender in both London and Lexington, and as a Federal Public Defender in Denver, Colorado. Her background in both state and federal criminal defense has shaped her into a strategic and determined advocate for her clients.

Before entering private practice, Janvi served as a public defender in Lexington, Kentucky, where she handled complex criminal matters involving extensive discovery, motion practice and serious felony charges. She has successfully taken felony cases to jury trial and brings her dedication, preparation and tenacity to serve her clients at the Spedding Law Office.
